USING eREPORTREMOTE.NET
Managing Files Locally

Once you have downloaded a dataset, you can begin to make changes and additions through the Injection, Production, and Disposal forms. NOGCC recommends that you keep a local record of any datasets that you send back to the NOGCC server. You can save the datasets to your computer at any time through the Save Dataset button on the eReport Server form. The dataset files are saved to your local computer in XML format, which can then be viewed either in your browser or directly in the eReportRemote application through the Open Dataset button.

If you are working from a locally saved dataset, the active dataset file path and name are displayed in the Current dataset field on the lower part of the eReport Server form. If the active dataset is displayed from the NOGCC server, the number of records in the dataset is displayed in this location.

When you open a previously saved dataset with the Open Dataset button, the information is displayed directly in the eReportRemote.NET application form fields. As a visual aid in determining whether you are working from an NOGCC-downloaded dataset or a locally saved dataset, eReportRemote.NET clears the operator name field on the eReport Server form when you open a dataset from your local computer. The file path and name of the local dataset will be displayed in the Current dataset field on the eReport Server form.
