If your Information Services staff includes systems analysts who can map your database tables and fields to the eReport schema and help you to effect the data validation checks that NOGCC requires, you can generate eReport files for upload directly to the NOGCC server.
One way to accomplish this is for your staff systems analysts to download the header information for well records in NOGCC’s databases. They can then join the structure of this dataset to your in-house data source.
Because data sources vary widely in type and structure, NOGCC can offer only general guidelines for how to complete this data mapping and is not responsible for any in-house database programming you may undertake for regulatory reporting purposes. However, if you have a large number of oil and gas facilities, you may find that this method offers a cost-effective way of automating a portion of your regulatory reporting process.
