Tip: Before installing eReportRemote.NET, please make sure that you have the Microsoft .NET Framework installed on your PC. This free software is available at http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/downloads/howtoget.asp.
The setup program for eReportRemote is included in a zip file available from the Download eReportRemote.NET page in the Web application. Save the NE_eReportRemote.zip file to your hard drive and use Windows Explorer to navigate to that location. When you unzip the archive you will find the following files:
· eReportNe_Setup.msi, which launches the eReportRemote.NET setup wizard. Use this file to initiate the setup program if you have the latest Microsoft installer (version 2.0) on your workstation.
· Setup.exe, which also launches the eReportRemote.NET set program. Use this file to initiate the setup program if you do not have (or are not sure whether you have) the latest Microsoft installer on your PC.
· A setup.ini file that contains application configuration settings
Once you have unzipped the archive, follow this procedure to install eReportRemote.NET:
1. Double-click the setup.exe file icon to start the installation wizard. The installation is easy and does not require that you re-boot your computer.
2. When the NEeReportSetup wizard starts, click Next.
3. The wizard will suggest a file location for the program. You can accept the default or Browse to a location of your choice. Clicking the Disk Cost button will allow the wizard to inspect your hard drive and return a list of available drives on your system, along with the space requirements for the program and the available space on each drive.
4. Select whether you would like to make eReportRemote.NET available to just your own login or to everyone who might use your computer. Then click Next.
5. Read and accept the License Agreement. Then click Next. Note: If you do not accept the license agreement terms, the setup wizard will end and the application will not be installed.
6. The wizard is now ready to install eReportRemote.NET on your computer. Click Next.
7. Once the installation process has finished, click Close.
The wizard will install a Start | Programs menu selection that you can use to launch the program to begin familiarizing yourself with the program.
